Seven years ago during a difficult chapter in her life Dr. Fasika Aklilu flew to Northern Spain and trekked along the Camino de Santiago, which is a series of pilgrimages that lead to the shrine of Saint James the Great. It was during her journey here that Dr. Aklilu couldn’t help but be inspired, what she experienced was more than just a simple walk–it was a form of healing in numerous ways.

Featuring brightly coloured watercolours, this exhibition is the result of trying to capture the feelings, sights, sounds, and people Dr. Aklilu encountered from that walk seven years ago.
